Intentional Christian Community Covenant

(Draft Covenant for Adaptation ond Discussion)

as a member of the body of Jesus Christ i commit to the following

for the duration of my time in (neighborhood):

I am committed to living here in this manner, unless I, in conversation,

prayer and exploration with community, believe the Lord to be calling me elsewhere.


All to the glory of God and health of the Church.

In God’s strength, by the power of the Spirit we ask God to help us as:

  • We devote ourselves to the Lord and His transforming power through His Word and prayer (Rom. 12:1-2).

  • We commit to membership in our local church (HTC DT)

  • We live with a Heavenly Kingdom perspective.

  • We are one unified body, being built up into Christ and love.

  • We are a family, sharing our homes and our resources. We bear each others’ burdens, support and encourage each other.

  • We handle conflict with proactive grace and forgiveness (Matt. 18:10-35).

  • We confront sin with truth and the Gospel.

  • We do not gossip, but pursue direct, open, and honest dialogue with members of the community.

  • We give members of the community the benefit of the doubt.

  • We participate in the community’s scheduled times together, to the best of our abilities.

  • We are committed to a local church body, and submit to its leadership.

  • We seek to proclaim and illuminate the Gospel to each other and our neighbors.

  • We reflect and embrace the diversity of our neighborhood.

  • We foster reconciliation among differing cultures and people through the Gospel.

  • We seek to be agents of redemption in our neighborhood.
